I have set this page up on behalf of a friend I went to school with. Sheifa Downie is a single mum of 4 children who is currently living with her 2 youngest. She has not worked for a while due to ongoing medical problems and is currently suffering from mental health issues, depression, anxiety, bulimia and insomnia which stem from an abusive relationship. She has made mistakes in the past and is currently getting help through her GP, support through the Living Well Network, as well as being on a NHS waiting list to receive the specialist help she needs right now. In the meantime she is waiting to start her level 3 diploma for Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools, so she can get better qualified to work with and help children and young people as that is her passion.

I have set up this fundraising page because she needs and wants a bedroom of her own, a nice sanctuary of her own. Her bedroom was damp and moulded which has just been treated by the council and now she needs help to furnish it. After 4 c-sections and on-going back ache through sleeping on a sofa or mattress on the floor she needs a proper bed.
She has been making sure she keeps a roof over her family’s head and keeping up to date with monthly bills, but for years she has neglected herself and put everyone else’s needs before her own.

Just a bed, wardrobe, carpet and soft lighting will be brilliant. That’s all she wants, needs and would be grateful for any donations no matter how small. She is a good person with a big heart, but right now she is a struggling mum who wants to get well and make her children proud and needs some help.
