In the early hours of the morning on Thursday 13 October 2016, Councillor Malcolm Aitken passed away. He was a dedicated Member of the Council for over 14 years (he was first elected in 2002 and became the Leader of the Labour Group in 2007) and served his community with great passion. He truly cared about his constituents and will be sorely missed.

Instead of flowers, Councillor Aitken’s family are collecting donations for a commemorative bench that they wish to have installed in the grounds of Bishops’ College, home of the Council Offices in Cheshunt.

If anyone would like to donate, they can pay with cash or card at the Council Offices or card at any of the One Stop Shops. They can also make a donation here.

The target is £800 and there will be an official ceremony to mark the occasion when the bench is installed.
