    Story

We at Malpas Young Farmers would like to give something back to not only a local charity but a national charity, these being RABI and The Trussell Trust.

We are aiming to do 575 miles collectively between senior, junior and past members whether that's through running, walking, cycling, hacking or all four! We have chosen to do 575 miles because this is how many deaths there has been in Cheshire due to COVID-19.

Remember to DM your miles to Chloe Dillow and DM or email (jaderutter.design@gmail.com) any photos or videos to Jade Rutter.

With things being a bit obscure at the moment we thought this would be the perfect time to still do something as a club.

    About our charities:

RABI have been serving the farming community since 1860. They offer financial support, practical care and guidance to farming people of all ages, including farmers, farmworkers and dependants. ''Although a lot of the help we provide is financial, we do much more than send out cheques in the post. We strive to build personal relationships and will tailor our support to suit you. If we can’t directly provide what you need, we’ll do our best to liaise with other organisations and agencies on your behalf. We’re here for the small things as well as the big and treat every application for support on its own merits, working with compassion and discretion. It’s our vision that no member of the farming community should ever have to face adversity alone. We offer financial support, practical care and guidance to farming people of all ages, including farmers, farmworkers and dependants."

The Trussell Trust strive to end hunger and poverty in the UK. They are a nation wide charity but support individuals in Whitchurch, Wrexham and Nantwich with their food banks. "In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. We support more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face. Between April 2018 and March 2019, food banks in our network provided a record 1.6 million food supplies to people in crisis, a 19% increase on the previous year. We know it takes more than food to end hunger. That’s why we bring together the experiences of food banks in our network to challenge the structural economic issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign to end the need for food banks in the UK."

Any donations would be great and very much appreciated!

There's a prize for the most miles complete by junior, senior and past member.

    Many thanks,

    Malpas Young Farmers
