SUICIDE - TIME TO STOP PRETENDING

That’s 84 husbands, sons, fathers, brothers, uncles, cousins and friends gone every single week...

This has to change, we have to be able to discuss mental health, in all its forms!

Stress, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD and every other condition has 3 things in common;

1. They are indiscriminate an can affect any one of us at some point in life

2. They are debilitating and affect every aspect of a victims life

3. Without help, they can be deadly and without being able to talk openly, without fear of judgement or ridicule, there really is no escape from their torment.

In less than 3 months - that’s over 1000 people expected to not get the help or support they need, and who see no other way...

In my attempt to help raise awareness and support to combat this disturbing reality,

In November 2018, raising funds for a new local social enterprise, I will complete a bike ride like no other...

Cycling over 1000 miles, from Lands End to John O’Groats via 3 Cities unfortunate enough to have some of the highest suicide rates in the UK... Warwick, Preston and Blackpool. I will try to use this opportunity to meet with people who either personally, or professionally have been affected by suicide and mental health. Through this, we hope to open discussions around and develop support networks to help resolve; any issues, concerns, fears or problems, and perhaps most importantly identify possible early interventions and support mechanisms to improve this horrific reality in our communities.

With our wheels metaphorically now in motion, we are asking for volunteers and sponsors to come forward in anyway to help us make this an event that nobody will forget! Whether helping us spread the word, raise funds, donating bikes, engaging in our community rides, or even offering food, water or accommodation along our route... there is something we can all do to help!!
