Story
I have entered to swim the "Big Chill" which is swimming 5.25 miles the full length of Lake Coniston in the Lake District on the 2nd September 2017.
This is to raise vital funds for bladder and prostrate cancers and also to help a close friend Karl Bullimore ( help the fix-our-father campaign on the gogetfunding website) who has a rare and aggressive type of bladder cancer. Karl is creating history by privately funding his treatment from the USA which can help others unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with this rare type of small cell cancer.
In the construction and demolition business everyone knows of a father/grandfather/brother/uncle or friend who has been diagnosed at some point. It is important for me as my father died from bladder cancer.
Can you please state what percentage of funds given to either :-
1. Bladder/prostrate
2. Fix-our-father Campaign at Gogetfunding.com
All donations after the swim is complete will be split accordingly as stated by you.
Whatever funds you can spare will be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks Marc

7 years agoTHE SWIM: The Water temp was not too bad, the weather was good, the water a bit choppy, I had no excuses, the pressure was on. My watch, and family time read 2hrs 17 mins for 5.48 miles of swimming. My official time was 2hrs 25 mins but next time I'll know to hand my tag in & not chat first!! Over 700 entered & I finished 44th out of the men & 62nd overall. It's a fantastic experience, especially the several pints at the end! I have decided to leave the site open for a few more weeks. Amount to date £2395 plus a couple of cheques. Cheers
