    Story

I'm an anthropology student and I've always wanted to visit South America.

This year I have been given the incredible opportunity to volunteer in small villages in Ecuador with VESA. Our work will mainly be building toilets and bathrooms, teaching kids English and hygiene and renovate the existing bathrooms and classrooms if need be. Our volunteer work is joint onto a cultural and adventure exploration of the Amazon rainforest which lasts a few days.

This trip, whilst being fantastic just by itself, is also of huge importance for me for research purposes for my degree. As an anthropologist, studying remote cultures which are alien to me first hand could potentially be my once in a lifetime opportunity and a basis for my dissertations, projects and further research.

Sadly, VESA volunteering opportunities come at huge financial costs which I will not be able to cover on my own. The two week program costs £1199, to which the costs of flights and travel insurance (a VESA requirement) are then added.

Thank you for all of the donations, big and small, every penny is an important, valued and appreciated donation.

If you want more details on my volunteering, VESA or myself - email me at marcelina.trabszo@gmail.com

    Thank you once again
