This summer my son Ryan will be volunteering with Think Pacific for 4 weeks, providing academic and physical education to Fijian children living in impoverished rural communities through a youth and sports development project. The foundation supports over 50,000 children living in hardship each year, using education as a tool to stop the long-term cycle of poverty.

The money which we manage to raise from running the Half Marathon will go towards the purchase of educational resources and sports equipment for rural schools, providing teacher training, improving school facilities, providing health advocacy and providing early years’ education; things which we take for granted, but things which will transform the everyday lives of people living in rural Fiji.
