Weʼve raised £90 to help towards payment of a nursing placement in Sri Lanka

Funded on Monday, 20th February 2017

    Story

I am a second year student nurse located in Essex. I have been presented the opportunity to take part in an elective nursing placement in Kandy, Sri Lanka.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity but unfortunately I can not do this alone.

I will be working in poor areas with high episodes of dengue fever, tuberculosis, severe malnutrition as well as many other ailments that are rare within the UK. Unfortunately the 110,000 people of Kandy do not have access to modern health care and the treatment provided is often life saving.

However, I can not do this without your help.
As you may have seen in the media, student nurses do not get as much financial help as other courses. Working is also difficult whilst on placement and completing academic modules.

I am extremely grateful for any donation, even sharing this link on a social media site.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
