My name is Marcelle Roberts. I live in South Africa with my mom and I am 8 years old.I have been doing Abacus since the age of 4 (2013). At pre-school it was discovered that I have a natural talent for numbers/maths. I participated in my first Abacus Maths Championship the following year (2014) where I won the Top Achievers Championship trophy. Since then I have participated every year in the Regional Championship and have done well. In 2016 I also participated in my first National Abacus Championship. I am one of the Abacus students chosen to represent my country South Africa in the 2017 Abacus Maths championship to be in held in Bangkok, Thailand on the 1st October 2017. I am looking for sponsorship for both my mother and I to attend this amazing opportunity I have been selected for. The amount I am looking for is R35 000 (£2000). This is to cover the cost of airfare, accommodation and the competition fee for both myself and my mom.I enjoy playing chess and mind stimulating games. I dream of becoming a doctor because I want to help people and fix people. I am fascinated with the heart and brain(mind).
