The Town Council want me to remove the beautiful grave Ive made for my soN Ravi that died in 2005 aged 8 months old of SIDS, was known as Cot Death

The thought of drstroyong his grave so it can be a Lawn Cemetery is too much for me to bare. The beautiful little statues I have on the base have to go as do the railings and the white marble stones and the vase his Portuguese grandparents sent from Portugal . It was his English grandparents that first made the grave for me as it was too much for me to deal with in my grief . It looks lovely and i look after it to keep it tidy. Strimming around it is no problem.

As only 2 vases that are Council approved are allowed now. Im raising money to have two special vases made to be sunk into the base as the rules state , that I wasnt informed of when Ravi died. If the grave is to be destroyed Id like to have them and a bench nearby to sit on which has a plaque with Ravis name on to stay always . Its where my ashes will be .

I now cant afford to buy these vases or the bench which orher than the headstone to reflect how much he was loved and is still missed. I may have tp make the base wider too . Ill get different quotes but as its got to go through the council to buy the bench , it costs more than usual . The vases will be made to their specifications. As a disabled single woman my imcome is limited and this is breaking my heart and upsetting me more daily , wondering if Ravis grave is nextto be go, leaving only a headstone abd a patch of mud . The vases and bench is all Im allowed to leave in memory to a loved baby .

Ive been to the local newspapers and am handing in a formal letter of complsint this week , along with a petition of over 800 signatures , but have already been told the rules will be enforced , breaking my heart even more and causing more pain , which I didnt think possible as Im still grieving for my baby 13 years later and this all makes it feel very fresh and raw . All hekp is appreciated to hekp me continue and have a beautiful resting place still for him .
