Radiation Free Lakeland are a small civil society group dedicated to holding the nuclear industry to account. Ongoing Campaigns include: Stop Moorside , Lock the Gate on Lillyhall, Keep Cumbrian Coal in the Hole, Spotlight on Springfields and many others. We have also carried out a citizen science project with nuclear students from the US exposing the appalling radioactive pollution from Sellafield on our beaches. With accelerating 'decommissioning' of Sellafield and old nuclear plants (ie dispersal of nuclear wastes to the wider environment) and the ongoing push for new nuclear plants our work is more important than ever.
