Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

When my daughter started school, she became friends with a little girl called Christina Thomas. Christina was a bubbly little girl, always smiling... but unfortunately, about 18 months ago, Christina started getting ill, upset and tired a lot. Her parents, Kenny Thomas and his wife Francisca, saught medical help and found out that Christina had a brain tumour . Christina is just 5 years old, and the news was a real shock.

Christina's tumour has since been announced as inoperable as it is on the brain stem. Her family have been seeking the best advice from across the world, to give her the best possible chance of survival.

So far, instead of being hospitalised, her family have been taking an holistic approach with Christina, making her life stay as normal as possible. Christina has really benefited from this and has stayed really active, she goes to school every day and sees her friends. Christina's tumour had stayed a similar size for months, until recently...

A recent scan has shown that her tumour has started to grow once again, and Christina's parents are now having to find treatment abroad, obviously, this needs funding. The treatment that she needs cannot be found here in the UK.

My daughter understands that Christina is very ill and has seen that people have been raising as much money as possible, to go towards Christina's treatment. She now would like to raise some money herself, so will be working towards completing some tasks over the school holidays, to try and get some sponsors. Her first task being,: to see how many books she can read in one day.

We would appreciate so much, if you would be able to donate towards this worthy cause, so that Christina Thomas can have a better quality of life until, hopefully, a cure can be found. We would also appreciate any prayers, to give Christina strength and give her the path to the right treatment.

A few pence, or a pound here and there all adds up! Thank you in advance for your support.

Thank you all soooooooo much for your kind donations. Christina has just had her 6th birthday!!! Woo-hoo! Her family didn't even think she would even see her 5th birthday, so it's fantastic news! This page has now closed, but it does not mean that I cannot pass on any donations that you may still want to pass their way. Christina will return to Germany later this month for the 2nd part of this treatment. Only this time she's been given the all clear to fly, which is brilliant news! We'll have to wait and see what happens with the treatment. X

Well, Gabriella is praying hard for Christina every night still, which she has done virtually every night since she found out that Christina was ill all those months ago. Gabriella is now into poetry and has found herself a favourite poem that she loves to read to everyone that comes round to see us. The time has nearly come, to pass on these wonderful funds to Christina's parents, so that they can use it for Christina's treatment. Thank you all so much for your donations, it's going to be a great help.

Christina will be going on a very long train journey next week, for the start of her next lot of treatment, abroad. It, no doubt, will be a very challenging time for the family and extremely tiring for Christina. Christina will have to go abroad a few times for this course of treatment, which cannot be obtained in this country. It's such a shame that Christina has to go to these lengths to source treatments because the NHS is so far behind!

Myself and my family know 5 year old Christina Thomas well as our daughter goes to school with Christina. We really would like to make a difference in her life. She is so young and fragile.
