Last week me and a lot of my friends were shaken by the tragic news that on 26.10.17 Russian helicopter MI-8AMT crashed off Norway's Arctic Svalbard archipelago with eight people on board. The co-pilot of the helicopter, was my friend, Vladimir Frolov.

Five members of the crew and 3 Russian scientists are missing, presumed dead. So far just one body has been recovered, and they have not been able to identify it without DNA test.

Vladimir's wife, now widow, is my friend Irina. She has lost her husband, their three boys have lost their father, and however much it hurts us to lose Vladimir, I cannot even begin to comprehend what it feels like for his family.

We want to raise the money to help his family with the daily living costs. Irina is currently on maternity leave, her youngest son is just over 1 month old. Under Russian laws until the body is found, Vladimir is only "missing" and therefore she can not receive any financial help from the state. She has a family, a mortgage, and she is grieving the loss of her true love. The least we can do is help take away the money worries.
