    Story

Dave Thompson Managing Director of Marine Travel visited a local school in Thatphanom and after meeting teachers and children he saw the desperate need for the provision of basic football activities and equipment to help with the learning, well-being and development of children from very poor families in the area.

Through his connections with Marine FC in Crosby, Liverpool he quickly gained approval for the setting up of a new football club called Marine Thatphanom FC incorporating the name, badge and the away kit of the Crosby club with the vision of providing organised football training and matches in Thatphanom.

Marine Thatphanom FC is in desperate need of funds to assist in the provision of kit, equipment, pitches, a classroom and trained coaching staff to enable the children in the area, no matter what ability or disability to take part in the playing of football.

Some items have been supplied and repairs to a football field have been carried out by volunteers so that an area is available as a football base.

Marine FC Chairman Paul Leary says that this project will provide so many benefits for the children and families in Thatphanom who are in real need, for what we all take for granted, of being able to play football.

Please help us by donating funds to this project. All monies raised will be channeled directly by Dave Thompson on approved expenditures required to help in the continued development and growth of Marine Thatphanom FC.

Anna Goodband and Peter McCormack have been heartened and inspired by the recent articles in the Champion newspaper and also the Marine FC website and social media postings about Thatphanom Marine FC partnership. The "Nutty" duo decided to join in the fundraising doing their very own Boxing Day Dip at Crosby lake on the day of Marines home game against Skelmersdale. IF you would like to sponsor the mad pair please donate via the just giving page
