ReBuild Mexico is a house building project, that takes place in Tijuana, Mexico. Over the course of a week a group of young people build a house for a family in need, in the deprived area.

Over the course of a week, the young people will lay the foundations for the house, construct the walls and roof, and then wrap the house in chicken wire and a stucco coat, before presenting the keys to the family. The project is designed to provide practical help to local people in Mexico while creating cross-cultural understanding for the participants through direct exposure to the Mexican culture. Although the trip will change the lives of many local people, the goal of this project is to also encourage these young people to understand the reality of poverty through participation, and that they can make a difference in their own neighbourhoods back home.

I will be taking part in this building project during the easter holidays, and in order to raise funds will be completing an Olympic distanced triathlon (1.5km of swimming, 40km of cycling and 10km running). Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
