    Story

Over 2 weekends Hebburn Cemetery was vandalised, leaving the graves in a terrible mess. Rubbish was scattered all over graves, ornaments were stolen and gravestones were knocked down.
    Families have been left devastated.
Originally we were raising money to have the graves restored, but thankfully South Tyneside Council are paying for this to be done. We are now raising money to have CCTV installed in the cemetery to try and prevent something like this happening again.
Myself, Ian Houston, John Stewart, Tricia Vickers and Carole Whyte are all collecting

Everyone has been absolutely amazing so far, we are almost at our original target of £5000 and we still have quite a few events coming up. We will make sure that Hebburn Cemetery gets the best CCTV available. Any excess will be used to do anything possible to make Hebburn Cemetery a better and safer place for all. Thank you all x

Brilliant news!! South Tyneside Council are covering the cost of putting the gravestones back up. So ALLthe money we raise can go towards having CCTV installed in the cemetery and hopefully this will prevent this from happening again.

A huge thank you to all who have donated so far. £366 in a day!!! It's wonderful for the families affected by the vandalism to see how much people care and support them. If we raise enough money we are hoping to not only restore the graves but also instal CCTV in the cemetery to prevent such a disgusting thing happening again. Thank you once again on behalf of the families x
