    Story

Between the 10th and 16th of April I will be running, walking, and limping 201 miles from Carrow Road (Norwich City FC) to Old Trafford (Manchester United FC).

The aim is to raise money for the NHS, Widowed and Young, Winston's Wish, Miles4Meals, plus the Norwich City and Manchester United Community Foundations.

    The reason:

I am a lifelong Norwich City fan, and my brother-in-law Jamie Robinson was a lifelong Manchester United fan. We were both members at Norwich City over the past decade and attended many games together.

Last January, Jamie contracted COVID-19 and spent a number of days on a ventilator at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn. He improved, was taken off the ventilator and moved to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in Norwich.

Jamie developed a problem with his heart and lungs which resulted in him needing to be airlifted to a specialist hospital in Manchester for emergency life saving treatment. However, his condition worsened before he could leave Norwich and he sadly died on the 7th February 2021.

Jamie was 31-years old and left behind a wife (my sister), a 6-year old son, and 13-year old stepson.

My plan is to carry one of Jamie's beloved MUFC shirts to Old Trafford to be signed by the team and to bring it back home for him. Obviously it would be too easy to drive, and although I could send the shirt to one my contacts to get signed I want to use this opportunity to raise money for the NHS who treated him and so many others, for people who have been widowed and need support, for children who have lost parents, for children who go to bed hungry, for the community trusts of the two clubs who are being so supportive...and while I am at it, to heighten awareness of the benefits of physical activity, physical and mental health, and exercise (which is my day job after all).

I don't expect anything from anyone, but will appreciate everything and ensure that it is used effectively to support those who need it.

Look out for updates and some guest appearances on my Instagram page (@marklaws2011) throughout the week and I thank you in advance for any support you can provide.

As a 'thank you', every donation can have a copy of my 'Core Values' eBook worth £15. Simply copy and paste this link and download a copy... - https://www.dropbox.com/s/pyjmetdu74lfhof/Core%20Values_Level%201.pdf?dl=0 (I don't even know if you have donated but I trust you. Feel free to email me your feedback).

For every £10 you donate you will get one raffle ticket (£30 is three tickets for example) and a chance to win one of several prizes blagged by me or donated by some generous partners. Some are worth hundreds, some are worth thousands, and some are priceless!!

    Thank you in advance!!
