Brooke’s Battle

Brooke was devastatingly diagnosed with a brain tumour aged just 6 in 2011. For the last 7 and a half years , she has battled life threatening surgery and 3 further major operations , chemotherapy and the side effects / fatigue that comes with such a horrible illness with nothing but positivity and a smile and a determination to get on with her life as normally as possible. Unfortunately just over a month ago the family were dealt the heartbreaking news that her tumour was growing again aggressively and further treatment was needed. Brooke’s physical health has deteriorated quite badly and after only a few days notice the whole family Gary,Kirsty and Brooke and her little sister Skye have headed to Jacksonville Florida for a long course of proton therapy treatment (radiotherapy)for approximatley 2 months which hopefully will end this horrible disease.This has all happened so fast for the family and has completely changed their whole life .

I am challenging myself to climb Criffel 3 times in one day on Sunday 2 September and would be grateful for any donations or sponorship. I will be passing on the funds to Brookes family for them to decide how to use it to help Brooke & the charities which are supporting them.

I also have the backing of Queen of the South Ladies & Girls Football Club where Brookes sister Syke plays & I coach. The girls will be accompanying me on one of my climbs up Criffel on the day.
