    Story

5 years ago I was diagnosed with Laryngeal Cancer and given a poor prognosis. Thankfully due to Medical treatment with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy I not only survived but the Cancer has been eradicated. Unfortunately this led to severe scarring in my Gullet and windpipe. The only sensible way forward was to undergo a Laryngectomy. Due to help from the Glan Clwyd Laryngectomy Club I was well prepared and supported before, during and after surgery as were my Wife and Family.

It is now over 2 years since that surgery and I am physically active, playing Golf regularly, walking and Hill climbing.

Last year i climbed Snowdon as part of my Fundraising .This year I am joining the Clwydian Walkers on a 6 day walk from Brenig to Bodfari over 6 days (17th to 22nd September.

Your support will allow the Glan Clwyd Laryngectomy Club to continue to support Patients and their Families prepare for , undergo and recover from Laryngectomy surgery. It will also buy equipment such as electronic Larynx machines, nebulisers and communication boards to improve quality of life for them as they recuperate.

    Your support is truly valued

    Thanks.

Thanks to everyone for all their support. On line donations have been excellent. We completed the 6 days of walking today Some fantastic scenery despite gale force winds and heavy rain on 2 of the days. Remain well but very tired. Keep supporting this great cause Thanks
