Myself and Iona travelled to Ghana in February 2017 to volunteer at the Cherub Foundation's Children's Home in the Kumasi region. During our time at Cherubs we learned of the challenges they face day to day, be it feeding and clothing the children or funding new projects to improve the quality of life for all involved.

Cherubs is currently building a new block to accommodate the ever rising number of young children under the age of 5, as well as expanding the existing block that houses the school and dormitories for the older children.

After several months of construction, the original building has had a new floor added, however work has ceased due to a lack of funds. At the same time the new accommodation block is nearly finished but is missing vital beds, with the children sleeping on foam mattresses on the floor.

I will be posting images in the updates section, so would appreciate if you could take the time to view them.

To complete the building work on the original block, the Foundation requires £3,000. This isn't a small figure but anything towards achieving this is a huge help for an organisation that relies on the generosity of others, with no governmental support.

In short, we are trying to raise funds to help continue the development of this wonderful organisation in the hope it will give the orphans a better chance in life given the turbulent start that many of them had.

As well as the fundraising, I (Martyn) will be running the New Forest Half Marathon on Sunday 10th September 2017 (!!).
