Weʼre raising £5,500 to Name a Guide Dog Puppy in Memory of Mary Chapman
- Burghfield, Reading, UK
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Mary Chapman passed away unexpectedly on 4th March 2018. She loved her dog, Millie and spent a lot of time looking after friends' dogs and helping people. She always had time to talk to people, listen to them and made people feel better straightaway. We felt that supporting Guide Dogs in her memory was a perfect tribute to her life because of her love of animals, particularly dogs. By helping us raise funds to name a Guide Dog Puppy, "Mary Jane", we will be able to keep her memory very much alive. Our target is £5,500 to name a puppy, help them start their training and to meet the puppy. Mary was an extremely kind, loving and generous person and we know she would have loved this idea.

Thank you so much for your generous donations so far. Today’s memorial event at Easthampstead Park, Bracknell was a beautiful reminder of how special Mary was, how her kindness, love and friendship touched so many people. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Our fund has got off to an amazing start! Thank you.

Mary was a wonderful friend for many years since the Reading Control Room days. We would meet once a month for coffee, she would also visit my husband who is in a care home with Dementia.💔
