12 months ago, my sister (Jan Malone)’s long term partner Mathew Rimmer, suffered a devastating brain haemorrhage caused by a heart infection. He was on life support in a coma for two weeks, following emergency lifesaving brain surgery. He still isn’t home but he’s come an awful long way and we are hoping he will be home soon. Life for him and Jan will never be the same again and although we are always hopeful and positive and we know he will continue to improve, he is facing a life with disability.
I am doing a fitness day - Les Mill Live Manchester on 1st October - with some fellow gym bunnies and we are fundraising for Mat’s Future. This will include adapting the house, ongoing therapies for speech and physio, these therapies cost £100 per session and, Mat needs at least of of each per week. We are hoping he will be able to have stem cell treatment at some point.
