    Story

We require urgent matched funding in order to trigger the release of significant central funds.

We are Form the Future- the Cambridge Community Interest Company that was recently shortlisted as Cambridge’s Social Enterprise of the Year. We're on the brink of securing an additional £75,000 of funding to help Cambridgeshire children transition from education into the oh-so-alien world of work. This funding will be used to deliver additional employability skills training in Cambridgeshire schools; more enterprise days to encourage entrepreneurship, and also support for children who are struggling to gain work experience.

But this funding is in jeopardy as the only way for us to trigger it is for us to secure at least £7,500 from Cambridge businesses or philanthropic individuals- by May 5th!

If you an help us reach our target, it will give us over £80,000 to support an under-funded area in our financially-strapped Cambridgeshire schools.

Research from the Education and Employers Taskforce indicates that four or more employer engagements at school make young people five times more likely to be employed! The same organisation states: “Over recent years, the evidence base surrounding the impact of careers-focussed provision has improved considerably, offering validation for the OECD’s confidence that school-mediated, work-related activities can be robustly associated with better employment outcomes”. With ever-constrained resources, schools are unable to effectively provide this experience. With their links to over 400 Cambridgeshire companies who provide volunteers to go into schools to inspire the next generation, Form the Future has a brilliant track record in delivering this vital service.

We did it- thanks so much for your help. : https://www.cambridgenetwork.co.uk/news/form-the-future-did-it--with-your-help/?
