Welcome to my fundraising page, my name is Matthew Chalk, I am a Karate athlete from Paisley and train with Shitokài Scotland karate club based in Renfrew.

I am honoured and delighted to have been selected to represent Scotland at the WKF World Junior, Cadet and U21 Championships taking place in Tenerife this October.

Unfortunately there is no funding available for karate and I, like my team mates, will have to raise the funds myself to be able to compete at this prestigious event, along with the other European competitions I need to attend as preparation in the run up to the World Championships.

By making a donation you will be helping me fulfil my ambition of representing my country and follow in the footsteps of my mum and brother who have already had the privilege of wearing the national badge and competing for Scotland.

Representing your country is a great honour but also comes at great expense. The money raised from this will go towards travel & accommodation costs for the World Championships and pre competition preparation.

The remainder of 2017 is very busy with expenses of accommodation, flights and transfers etc and being a self funded athlete I'm looking for additional support to help me attend the events which I work so hard for. Any donation no matter how big or small will be a massive help.
