Story
English Springer Spaniels 'Max and Paddy out in the Lake District' are a Facebook delight, ambassadors for Keswick, Patrons for Eden Animal Rescue, stars of BBC's The One Show, Crufts and have featured in the glossy county magazine 'Lancashire Life'. Last year Max, now ten, was in collision with another dog and it's been discovered that he has a chip of bone floating in the ''elbow' joint of his front left leg. He needs arthroscopy (minimally invasive surgery) to remove the chip so that he can 'spring' around the Lake District as good as new with his young pal Paddy.
The cost of scans, tests, medication, etc and surgery is expensive - the surgery alone around £2,300 - and, due to Max's circumstances, his owner Kerry Irving was unable to get insurance for him.
THIS APPEAL COMES FROM MAX AND PADDY'S FANS WHO WANTED TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO THE BOYS WHO BRING SO MUCH JOY.
Our target is £4,000 (Just Giving deducts a service fee of 5% of the total raised.) Any surplus after paying for Max's full treatment will go to Eden Animal Rescue or an animal charity of Kerry's choice.
Please help the wonderful Max to get out and about in the Lake District without pain! Even a couple of pounds makes a difference.
Thank you.

6 years agoFrom today, Max is allowed 15-minute daily walks - and is able to swim briefly. Doesn't he look delighted to be back in the water?

6 years agoMessage today from Kerry Irving, Max's owner: " The generosity of everyone is quite overwhelming. Hopefully on Thursday when we see the specialist we'll be able to get Max out for slightly longer walks. " We also made a donation to Eden Animal Rescue for £500 the other day at their fun dog show."
