On 10th of February 2018 one of the most charming and kind-hearted people I have ever met tragically took his own life.

I met Teddy on the very first day of first year of University, and he went on to become the life and soul of my halls, my house and one the best friends I made at Bristol.

Ted was a real character - instantly likeable, completely un-embarrassable,  someone who would find time for everyone - particularly if he was telling one of his long and terribly boring stories.

He was there for my good and bad times at University, and I only wish I could have been there for him when he needed it. Suicide is the biggest killer of young men in the UK,  which  is  a  shocking  statistic  if  you  take  a  moment  to  think  about  it.  Not only does it take away a life but it leaves family and friends devastated behind it.

Ted's younger brother has set up a foundation to help support young people in a similar situation, and to help stop tragedies like happening again. I am going to be running the Amsterdam marathon in support of this cause. Please donate what you can (I also know Ted would have found the idea of me running a marathon hilarious).
