UPDATE: Firstly we would like to thank you all on behalf of Fats and Mo for all of your incredible generosity donating to this fundraiser and also for your kind thoughts and messages you have left to accompany your donations. Fats has not been able to read any of them yet but when he is able to do so then he will.

We would just like to let you all know that the surgery went well and that Fats is being well looked after in an intensive care unit and his condition is improving gradually.

We will post a further update on here as soon as we have some more news.

Much Love - Team Fats ❤

    *************************************************************************

On 17th September our good friend Wildale Spencer AKA MC Fats was admitted into hospital in Olbia, Sardinia, after experiencing breathing difficulties.

After being in Olbia Hospital for 7 days and undergoing therapy and further medical tests it was revealed that Fats has blockages in all 3 of his coronary arteries.

He had just finished performing 4 shows throughout the week at the international Drum & Bass Festival, Sun And Bass, where he is considered part of the family and loved by many who partake in the yearly event.

Despite retiring from the majority of his live shows Fats considers Sun And Bass as a very special event and always manages to make it to Sardinia to be reunited with his many friends he has made over the years.

One cannot explain the feeling when we lift Fats in his wheelchair onto the stage and listen to his golden voice. These moments are very special to us all.

On 24th September he was transferred to Sassari Hospital where he will undergo a heart bypass surgery on 1st October to clear one of his arteries. This surgery will then be followed up with angioplasty surgery after his initial bypass surgery, to clear the blockages in his other 2 arteries.

The surgeons have said it will be around a 1 month recovery period, but Fats suffers with Type 2 Diabetes which will slow his recovery. After surgery he will require regular Dialysis treatment due to low kidney function.

Therefore we're starting a fundraiser campaign to cover any expenses incurred throughout this costly ordeal. To be able to get Fats back home safely and with the minimum distress to both him and Mo, we aim to cover hotel, travel and general expenses for his partner Mo, who has travelled out to Sardinia to be by his side.

Here are some kind words taken from a recent Facebook post from our good friend Donia Youssef who is a recent cancer survivor.

“In times of need friends and family often show their true colours. Certain peeps I have had to step away from and others I have become closer too. A very special friend to me who has been very close to me for many many years and came to my end of cancer treatment boat party recently and not only did he come to show his support, he got a cab to me in his condition and got on that mic for a good 2hours. Now he is in hospital out in Sardinia when he should be here at home and is having to undergo a major heart bypass operation, his kidney has failed , the main arteries to his heart are blocked amongst other conditions and I just feel heart broken.

I will be reaching out to every single one of you to help me support this man he has been through hell and lost both his legs through diabetes and I would never wish this on anyone. HUGE LOVE is going out to my very special friend and also to his amazing wifey who will be with him tomorrow in the hospital in Sardinia.

Fats, being the man he is, has not asked any of us to arrange this, however, he is deeply touched by the gesture. Funds received will go directly to Mo & Fats. This fund has been arranged by James Burns, Jason A-Sides & Donia Youssef. Please contact any of us if you have any questions, concerns or if you would like to donate directly outside of this site.

Peace, Love and Unity - TEAM FATS
