Story
Hi I’m Meera and I am participating in GirlGuiding Scotland‘s Volunteering Trip to Lesotho in Africa.
Lesotho is a small country in the highlands of South Africa, that came out of a civil war 15 years ago. The purpose of this trip is to promote education for girls and the empowerment of women in Lesotho. We will be working closely with the Lesotho GirlGuiding Association that already do a lot of volunteering work around their country.Our team will be taking part in a national camp in Lesotho to promote education for girls, giving workshops around the different regions, and visiting the local orphanage.
I am planning to climb to the summit of GoatFell on the Island of Arran, to raise money towards my expenses for this trip at the end of April. I would be very grateful for any generous donations towards this oppurtunity to contribute to the education of our young international community.
