    Story

On 12 March I'm running the North London Half Marathon to raise money for the Young Barnet Foundation and would be grateful for any support you can provide.

The Young Barnet Foundation (www.youngbarnetfoundation.org.uk) has been set up to help grow local activities for children and young people across the London Borough of Barnet by supporting the organisations that deliver them. Your support will help children and young people access local opportunities, in safe spaces, to grow and develop to be the best they can be.

Across the country, year on year expenditure on youth services has been cut, with a 2016 report suggesting a figure of £387,000,000 in the last six years. Consequently, opportunities for children and young people have significantly diminished. The Young Barnet Foundation aim to address this decline locally by working to support the fantastic youth organisations delivering services and activities for young people in the borough.

The Young Barnet Foundation aims to build the capacity of its members by facilitating centralised fundraising based on a consortia approach in order to access funding from a variety of sources, providing a ‘Venue Bank’ for groups to share and access available sites to run their projects and distributing a Small Grant fund (Space2Grow) which member organisations can apply to.

I'm raising money for the Young Barnet Foundation which will directly benefit its member organisations and children and young people in Barnet.

    Thank you for your support!
