    Story

I would like to help Iba and Peter, the local people of Meghalaya, to build a self-sustainable community aid centre for the villagers of Umiarong in Meghalaya, India.

The purpose of the centre is the following:
    - Improve English and Mathematics skills of 300 Umiarong children so they can get a job when they grow up
    - Teach over 200 locals how to do bee keeping, fish and pig farming so they can have food on the table as well as generate income
    - Conduct health camps to ensure mother-child health care
    - Train the teachers so they pass on education to others
    - Coach the locals to show that there is a better future

The raised money will go towards building a centre in Iba and Peter’s farm. £29,500 is a quote which we got from a local architect. The aim is for the centre to be self-sustainable where minimum running costs are required.

We will need local and international volunteers to work in the centre, so please reach out to me on grazina.ltd@gmail.com

My full story is in my blog here : http://grazinajets.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/expedition-to-scotland-of-east-should.html

Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope that together we can build a better future for the new generation of children.

    Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much to Ricky Datta, Dave Downes and an ANONYMOUS person for your generous donations! Than you for contributing to make this happen. I am also overwhelmed with such a wide interest of people to come to India and help build the educational community centre, to lay bricks, do rooting, solar panels, drainage as well as teaching English, Maths and Life beyond the village! Cannot thank you enough!

Every day life for this little man. There are 300 hundred children living in the village of Umiarong. Only very few of them can afford to go to school where they can learn to read, to write and have an opportunity to pursue higher education. The rest, will do physical jobs. The community learning centre will provide the vital skills for a better future.
