Hello, my name is Carla and my nephew, Mekhi has Lamellar Ichthyosis, a severe rare genetic skin disorder, which effects many areas and functions of the body and requires a hell of a lot of personal care every single day.

The purpose of my page - Please help me to raise money for a hydrotherapy pump that is likely to dramatically improve my nephew’s condition.

For SEVEN years my sister has been raising money for charity, raised awareness of my nephew’s condition and done all she can to provide my nephew with the best health care she can within her limitations.

Outside of her limitations, there is a nanobubble pump, a type of hydrotherapy that sheds the skin whilst the sufferer just lays in the bath and would save the 2 hours of manual exfoliating that my sister does per day. More importantly, it will allow Mekhi the independency of looking after his own skin as he gets older and makes for a more enjoyable experience during his baths twice a day.

At present, my sister scrubs and exfoliates Mekhi's skin in a bath twice a day to keep the build-up of skin at bay, along with all the constant all-over body creaming and eye drops that are required throughout the day. I believe this piece of high-tech will make a massive difference to their lives and I feel my sister and Mekhi deserve this help. I may be biased, but let's face it, they're never going to be able to afford to buy it any time soon. She's raised £1,000 towards the pump so far.

The nanobubble pump is a pump that is attached and placed in the bath. It makes tiny, oxygenated bubbles that are proven to exfoliate the skin, reduce infections and has been very successful for those with Lamellar Ichthyosis.
