OK Guys

Following my nephew being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.'s) in April he has been undertaking intensive treatment, which will be ongoing for quite some time. As a result, although they have not said as much, I know it will not only be very difficult emotionally and physically, but also, financially on his household. So, my plan here is to provide a little respite from that worry.

As anyone who knows me will confirm, I am not at all co-ordinated or athletic So, with this in mind I propose, in exchange for your kind donations, to undertake my own tri-effort-a-thon...This will consist of.. 1st - a 13km walk, 2nd - 20 lengths of my local pool (I'm not a strong swimmer so hubby will monitor this LOL) and 3rd - Although a bike ride would be traditional, I never learnt to ride one, so, instead I will undertake a 24hr silence (No talking, texting or Facebook :s) - Hubby said there's no chance I'll manage that one!!

The Support being shown by friends, family and even strangers is inspirational - from his Uncle, Cousin and Grandmother shaving their heads to his Aunt and Uncle arranging a Family Fun Day at which they, many friends and local businesses raised funds for RMCH and Children's Leukemia. His mum is going to do a Skydive to raise funds for the hospital where he is undertaking his treatment, as is his uncle , his dad will be running the Yorkshire Marathon to raise funds for Cure Leukemia and many friends are doing sponsored events too from runs to raise money for CCLG and RMCH to a Wing Walk to raise funds for CCLG. His school held a Cake Sale to raise money for Children's Cancer and Leukemia. The local Tesco supermarket have had collection buckets, book sales and raffles. as well as a family friend raising funds - The support has been humbling **(Apologies if I missed sponsored events there - let me know and will add you)
