My friend Katie, her husband Grant and older son Tom's world was turned upside down when they were given the devastating news that their youngest son / brother Jack (who had only just turned 4) was diagnosed with a stage 4 neuroblastoma and a malignant tumour in his abdomen which has spread to his bone marrow. A parents worst nightmare to be told their beautiful child is so seriously ill.

Jack is an absolute little star and is currently on day 50 of his initial chemo plan, which is every 10 days for 70 days with scans and tests in-between. He has had 5 blood transfusions to date and 1 platelets as well as regular infusions to top up deficiencies. He will be having his stem cells harvested at the end of the 70 days and surgery to remove the tumour depending on scan results. He will endure more chemo and possibly radiotherapy after.

It is heartbreaking that a gorgeous 4-year-old little boy should have to go through this. My son Ethan and Jack are little buddies, they went to nursery together and were both due to start school together until Jacks devastating illness showed itself. Jack's, Katie's and the family’s determination and courage are absolutely inspirational.

Please help me raise money towards our total target of £2000 to purchase a Pea Pod Sensory chair for Jack. I am walking from Hastings Pier to Eastbourne Pier along with some of my colleagues from Tesco Ravenside Bexhill (where Katie also works) which is approx. 16 miles for this amazing cause, which is so personal to me.
