    Story

Please take a little time to read this post :)

Every morning as I walk out my guesthouse here in dharamshala, I'm greeted by the warm smiles and well wishes from this man in the picture, Umprakesh. He always shows an interest in how I am and things about my life back at home.
The last few days I've noticed that he has really looked like he has been suffering. When I asked him, and heard his story I knew I had to try and help.

Last month Umprakesh was involved in a landslide incident whilst working on a farm up in the mountains. It seriously damaged his knee's and the rockfall landed on his head and shoulders, leaving swelling and clots.
He is in serious need of an operation, but due to the fact he is the only bred-winner for his family of 6, he has to continue trekking up the mountain each day to sell fruit, trying to gain enough money to support his family.
There is no way he will raise enough for his treatment, but he continues to work through excruciating pain, to put food on the table. Without this operation, the consequences will be fatal.

I wish I had the money to help him, but I'm putting this message out there, so if anyone feels drawn to this cause, they can extend a hand to help by sending a private message :). I know there are so many situations like this out there, but think of what we can do if we just focus on this one life. We can transform not only the life of Umprakesh, but for his whole family!

The cost of his first operation is -£40
And for the knee surgery - £300

Thank you for taking the time to read this xxxxxxxxxxx

      Update from the Page owner

I'm sorry its taken so long to give an update, but we have been waiting for a hospital appointment. Today I visited kangra hospital with Umprakesh and one of his daughters. He has been given a 10 month treatment, which has all been paid for by all you beautiful people. There was also enough to leave him and his family money to support them during these 10 months when he would be out of work. It was so beautiful to see how much stress was relived from this gift. I wish all of you could have seen the change you've created. Here are some pics x

I will be going to hospital next month to talk with the doctor, so I will let you know how it all goes :) Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
