    Story

We heard the story of Danielle and knew we needed to help. A brave team of 12 from Robert Walters, Milton Keynes, have put themselves forward to climb Scafell Pike on the 30th November to raise money for the treatment needed. It is a gruelling climb and we will be faced with snow and sub - zero temperatures. Please help us hit our target and help support the Mum Vs Cancer campaign.

Danielle is 37, a mum, a wife, a counsellor, an organiser, a daughter, a sister, an auntie, a friend, a fighter, and the life and soul, she really is. She’s also mum vs cancer. And here’s her story.

18 months ago Danielle, who lives in Ampthill in Bedfordshire, discovered she had bowel cancer. It’s not fair, it’s not kind but Danielle stood up to cancer and, after grueling rounds of chemo, surgery and recovery, Danielle nailed it!

Tragically, Danielle’s cancer returned almost a year to the day of her first diagnosis, and the grueling treatment began again. And again, she endured the surgery, the chemo, the sickness, the low times and fought hard again to beat it. She’s still fighting in her uniquely positive and cheerful way.

Danielle is now up against advanced cancer and sadly, 8 weeks ago, her 9 year old son, was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and mother and son are now fighting cancer together. It’s so cruel, but Danielle and her son need to continue treatment, stay strong and be together with the rest of their family.

Danielle now wants to try other treatment options not available on the NHS, and there are options but they’re costly. With the help of family and friends, money is starting to be raised for Danielle’s treatment, but it’s going to take the generosity and kindness of as many people as possible to get to the target of £120,000.

Getting people to hear Danielle’s story is important. Her story is heart breaking, extraordinary, rare, but her positivity makes it inspiring too. Danielle is still standing up to cancer and with help of more treatment she can continue to stay strong for her son too.

    Thank you xx
