Melodie has decided to run a marathon over the month of May (therefore not all in one go, but as she has after school activities every night, it won’t be an easy task finding the time!). Saskia will be supporting her by cycling the gruelling 26.2 miles. As you probably know, donkeys are Melodie’s favourite animal and Saskia’s second favourite (rabbits coming in a close first). They have adopted a donkey each - Charlie Brown and Cash. The people who own the donkeys do it out of pure love for the animals. They rely on funding to help pay for their up keep and actually have to work full time to earn a living. This sanctuary looks after old and retired donkeys. The girls are hoping to volunteer there when the visitor centre opens, but in the interim they are keen to raise as much money as they can to help maintain these beautiful animals.
