My loving and caring sister Mel was diagnosed on 9th June 17 with a brain tumour, (grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour) after having headaches for 6 weeks and although she was straight away admitted to hospital, she was still caring for other patients in the ward even though she was seriously ill herself. Mel was then transferred to Queens hospital where she had major brain surgery which removed 85% of the tumour. Yesterday she was diagnosed with the devastating news that the cancer is terminal.Pauline and Dan for our darling daughter we will try everything we can for you to try and beat this terrible disease you are so preciouse to us love mum and dad xx.

We would like to raise as much money as possible to enable us to seek treatments worldwide where available, and to also grant one of her wishes to get an adjustable hospital bed for at home.

Before the illness Mel was a hardworking carer for the elderly, still working up to the day before her diagnosis. Mel is a loving mum of 4, and a devoted wife, daughter, sister and auntie.

To us it matters a great deal as she puts everyone else first in life and now in her early 40's when she should be enjoying her life, she faces a massive battle with cancer. But in our Mel's words 'come on, we are going to kick cancers arse'!

The money we raise will be used to fund any treatments available worldwide, in order to prolong her life and give her more valued time with her family and children, the youngest being 5 years old, who in his words, says everyday 'mummy you are my best friend'. And to watch them all grow up into adulthood, seeing all experiences and milestones they take.
