The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the huge digital divide that exists in the UK.

Mer-IT Digital is a Community Interest Company limited by Guarantee that has been running since 2013 to tackle the poverty associated with the lack of a digital device, digital training or appropriate data.

Since March 2020, we have focussed on providing computers for those that are isolated and we have so far donated over 400 devices to schools and residents in need.

We are seeing an amazing involvement from members of the public, that are approaching us to donate their old devices. But we need financial support to cover for administration costs and to buy parts and refurbish the equipment to ensure the computers we donate are fit for purpose and become a happy addition to a disadvantaged family.

Without a computer, many families are unable to access the support networks that are already in place so we are working around the clock to support those most affected by the pandemic.
