Weʼre raising £1,000 to help fund Cleft Lip and Palate operation.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Our volunteer Haresh Sood, will he helping us to raise fund for this project via Robin Hood Half marathon at Nottingham. He is a lawyer by profession and was also a teacher at the hospital school in Nottingham.
Cleft lip and/or palate in most parts of the world, including the UK, affects around 1 in every 600 births. Without the necessary surgery children and adults can have a life of social stigma and medical problems.
Unfortunately, for families in some parts of the world surgery can be financially prohibitive. MERCY Malaysia UK (MMUK) a registered UK charity would like to help change that, with your support. A team of UK medical volunteers organised by MMUK will travel to carry out this lifechanging surgery for children with a cleft lip and/or palate at countries where this surgery is desperately needed.
These life-changing treatments will allow the children to eat unaided. The operations will have a huge impact on the children’s physical appearance, allowing them to grow up, learn and play without feeling the need to hide from society. Our mission is to improve their standard of life, offering a better future to these children and their families.
