Merthyr Tydfil Cricket Club was formed in 2012 when Hills Plymouth Cricket Club and Hoovers Cricket Club merged. Since then we have had great success in developing cricketers and have been successful in gaining promotion to Division 1 of the South Wales Cricket Association League.

We care passionately about cricket and we want to develop cricketers to ensure that competitive cricket is available for all abilities. We have had a successful year with our All Star Cricket, which has attracted over 25 children aged 5-8. What we want to do is develop All Stars Cricket for more than the 10 weeks it runs for and to further develop Junior, Youth and Women's cricket in the county borough.

We rely heavily on volunteers to run these sessions and there are costs involved with marketing, the upkeep of the facilities and equipment. As a way of raising money, some the Merthyr Tydfil Cricket Club supporters are going to climb Pen-Y-Fan on Saturday 18th August dressed as cricketers. So, that will include wearing pads and helmets, carrying bats and when they reach the top will play a game of cricket!
