As some of you will already know, our daughter Mia was born with a small deletion of chromosome 1, having this deletion means she is far from a typical 7 year old girl and she suffers from total hearing loss in one ear, profound learning disabilities and (currently) an inability to walk and offer any real sort of self help.

With your fantastic support a year ago we were able to raise enough funds to send Mia to Brainwave in somerset for focused physio & therapy work which has had notable impact and Mia is now much more mobile through crawling and more likley to tolerate her walker (see cover photo) than she previously would be. Mia, her school and everybody around her has & continues to work really hard over the last year with Mia and would like to continue attending but it costs £350 a visit and we need to attend every 5-6 months to continually asses Mia‘s progress and tailor the programme accordingly. For this we are asking again for your continued support.

Inspired by my wifes amazing efforts last year & my little girl Mia, we, yes WE, (Vicky & I) will be running the Great South Run 22/10. For those who know me, this time last year i was unable to probably make a minute running but ive been working really hard myself and have lost 3 1/2 stone over the last 6-7 months to get to a reasonable weight that will allow me to complete this run. Ive been training hard and am ready to do this.
