The “Making Bradninch Dementia Friendly” is a very new initiative in the town that will evolve into a very important support group within Bradninch and our neighbouring small communities.
A steering group has been formed and all effort is now being focused on creating a Memory Café.
The Café will offer help and support to those that suffer from the awful spectrum of dementia and to the heroes that give so much time and patience to support and help them.
We are working closely with other neighbouring dementia groups, in particular Silverton, who are offering fantastic support during our set up and have a very workable model for a community of our size.

We now have a venue and a starting date - 5th June 2017, and have embarked on purchasing some puzzles, games, support items and more but we do need funds to pay for the Cafe and its running costs over the coming years.
We cannot realistically ask those in need to pay a subscription and so many supporting charitable trusts are overwhelmed with requests especially during these times of austerity and government cut-backs.
We therefore need to ask if people can help in any small way.
We cannot offer much other than "you have helped" and will make a real difference to the lives of those that suffer from Memory loss and as important those who care for them. The Cafe will endeavor to support all.
