Seaside Venture Group are affiliated to the National Riding for the Disabled Association, and specialise in horse riding for people with all types of disabilities, from all over the Fylde Coast & the surrounding areas.

The work they do not only improves the Rider's physical well-being via the exercise of riding, but builds on social skills and ability to interact with other people by the Rider's association with the Groups' helpers and other riders. They often find that the horse helps to improve the Rider's ability to interact with others, and in some cases the communication with their pony is the first step they take to acknowledging the existence of other people.

William Wright and myself will be running the Blackpool Illuminations 10k on Saturday 26th August, in the attempt to raise £500. We would like to send as many children as possible from Brian House Children's Hospice to Seaside Venture Group, to allow them the chance to ride a horse for the very first time.

Every £11 donated will allow one child a 30 minute riding session in a specially modified saddle. As you would expect, due to the life changing illnesses these children have, this is not an experience they are able to do often and we would like them to have the chance to do something memorable and fun with this unique opportunity.
