On the 23rd March 2021 - the 1 year anniversary of coronavirus lockdown - Michael, our beloved brother, son, uncle, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend was sadly found in his home, having taken his own life the night before. Suicide in young men is at its highest level EVER. The chronic stress and isolation of prolonged lockdowns has tipped many over who were already just getting by.

Michael was 29, he should still be here. Our family will never be the same without him. He was a good man and loved by many,. He was handsome, healthy, kind, fun, and incredibly generous and loving. He had his whole life ahead of him. Depression took that away from him, and took him away from us.

Michael would have turned 30 on the 20th of September 2021. In his honour I want to raise money to support mental health in young males, and increase education on mental health for this demographic. I want to increase opportunities to save the men who are still with us, and struggling.

As he would have been 30, i want us to aim for £30, 000 by his birthday. If we can exceed that, even better.

Donations will be given to an organisation which supports men's mental health. We have not chosen this yet. Feel free to leave suggestions with your donation. Causes local to Lewis would be great.
