    Story

On the 2nd Jan 2018 I was at the hospital getting checked in for my first chemo treatment feeling scared, anxious and nervous. I was in a room with Mark and my cancer nurse when Mark noticed a bag that had been left on one of the chairs, he said to the nurse 'I think someones left a bag here', the nurse turned to Mark and said no that's for Michelle from a Charity called 'Chemo Gift Bags' she passed me the bag (with the chemo gift bag logo on) and inside the bag was full of the most thoughtful items.

Homemade blanket, homemade cushion, nail varnish, cross word book, soft toothbrush, head scarf, water bottle, pill box, fluffy socks, body wash, wide tooth comb the list goes on.

My nerves and anxiousness seemed to disappear as I couldn't believe how thoughtful and kind this bag of items were, I was so grateful.

All the gift bags are lovingly hand packed, a lot of thought has gone into each item and all toiletries are natural/organic.

Chemo gift bags story started in Oct 2013 when its founder, Lynne Shipton, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Lynne could not have chemotherapy but those she met during her treatment told her about what they might have to endure. Lynne's thoughts kept going back to the huge impact chemotherapy had on people's lives and well-being and was determined to help those going through this gruelling treatment. Initially she worked to raise funds for other charities, but she wanted to do more.

Understanding that there is a lot to chemotherapy than loosing your hair (skin, nails, gums, teeth and self confidence are all affected) she asked patients she knew what would have helped them before and during treatment. Further research showed that there was not any charities providing for patients physical needs, so a plan was formed..................

    Thank you !
