Weʼve raised £7,411 to raise money for Holt nursery towards the £45,000 construction of a building by walking 87 miles of the Kennet & Avon Canal in just 3 days!

Funded on Thursday, 30th December 2021

    Story

Since November 2020 I have been supporting representatives from Holt Pre-School to safeguard the future of the nursery.

For the past 50 years Holt nursery has been providing excellent childcare and is a fantastic community asset that we cannot afford to lose. The nursery is not for profit and runs additional fundraising events and visits local community groups including the Luncheon Club- which provides advice and support to families in need.

Without a new building, this will mean that the nursery will need to close.

Wiltshire Council owns the building and the council has recently funded some repairs in the short term; however this is not a sustainable position and a new long term solution is needed.

I have been exploring all avenues to look for sources of funding and will continue to press the case.

The fantastic local team have raised £155,000 however there is an additional £45,000 that needs to be raised. I am therefore hoping to raise more than the target on this page.

I am really looking forward to the opportunity to fundraise myself for Holt Pre-School and urge you to follow my progress as I prepare to walk the 87 miles of the Kennet and Avon Canal in 3 days at the end of September.

All the proceeds raised will be donated to Holt Pre-School.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I am grateful for your support and we are getting close to hitting our target - let’s make as bigger dent in the 45k remaining as we can! This weekend I shall be stocking up on plenty of plasters for the inevitable blisters. With just 1 week to go I encourage as many of you as possible to ask friends/colleagues/family members to consider donating to this cause. If anyone does wish to join me for this walk please do email me directly michelle.donelan.mp@parliament.uk
