I started attending valley daffodil "moove it n groove it" sessions with my son Caden, from the beginning of set up of this group, and family events such as bowling .
My son has autism and is non verbal which makes communication and outings difficult but this group gave us the opportunity to access events and activities (which previously we would have avoided) appropriate to his needs without fear of judgement or stares. The activities/events/sessions they provide equally cater for siblings and family without disabilities so outings are now possible but more importantly ENJOYABLE for the whole family instead of stressful and fractured.
I have been fortunate enough to watch events/sessions provided grow, In terms of popularity an need, as all sessions are inclusive of any disability whilst providing a safe environment for our children to have fun and make lasting friendships.
The wide variety of activities that allow our children so much joy,often having to be subsidised , so the dedicated team of volunteers are raising money to provide further sessions ,venue hire and equipment eg. Sensory toys,gaming provisions,craft items ect.
There are 4 of us doing the skydive in order to maximise potential donations which will allow us to introduce more activities and continue to subsidise current ones.
So please, please dig deep for this fantastic and invaluable cause so that my son ,family and others like us can continue to thrive and enjoy activities most take for granted.
