Story
Whilst scrolling through Facebook I came across a post regarding a local toddler Dawson Willcock . In January 2017 Dawson was diagnosed with a rare 0.9 in one million cancer, Hepatablastoma. Dawson was given many different types of chemotherapy but in April 2017 the cancer had spread further to his lungs. There was one more type of chemotherapy to try but unfortunately in May 2017 Dawson’s oncologist explained to his parents that this had not worked and he was now classed as terminal. After research Dawson’s parents, along with their oncologist came across a Doctor in Cincinnati who had cured children classed as terminal in the uk . It was at this point that I joined Dawson’s army to help raise a massive £500k to fund his treatment.
A massive £350k was raised but sadly the cancer was too aggressuve and Dawson passed on 24 November 2017.
I will never forget the first time that I met Dawson and his amazing family . His infectious funny personality , a beautiful smile and his tenacity to fight was just incredible . No child or their family should ever have to go through this horrific journey , hence the launch of
You Are My Sunshine.
Please follow us on our journey to join together to raise funds for research , the children’s cancer wards at QMC and to families who seek to raise urgent funds for life saving treatment, whether it be here in the Uk or abroad.
