Story
I read about this story a few weeks ago & it really touched my heart, especially having two young children myself. I can't imagine having to deal with this as a parent and that's why I am committed to running the Brighton maratho, raising money for this very poorly little girl. Here's her dad's story :
"Back in November 2015 we took Flo to A&E because we noticed she really wasn't going to the toilet, she was constipated. My wife was there virtually all day and it was established that there was a mass in her abdomen through an ultrasound scan. "We then went onto the Sutton Royal Marsden hospital for tests and other scans. She was diagnosed on December 2, 2015 with stage 4 neuroblastoma, which is the worst stage to have unfortunately. Florence had ten rounds of chemotherapy, then surgery which removed 80% of the tumours of radiotherapy. This was all topped off with immunotherapy treatment, which was meant to complete her treatment.
Sadly, our hopes that Florence could soon start enjoying a life free of cancer were cruelly dashed in November 2016. A routine CT scan showed that the tumor was growing again, despite everything that had been thrown at it. And a recent follow-up scan in January 2017 has shown that the tumour has spread into her stomach and has wrapped around her blood vessels. The doctors have told us the tumour is too dangerous to remove and there’s nothing more they can do and we were going to have to watch her finish the rest of her life and let the cancer take over. But we can do something and we will. We will now seek advice from a top neuroblastoma surgeon in New York. His name is Dr Michael. P. La Quaglia (feel free to Google him) and he has a fantastic record of successfully treating cancer patients with cases similar to Florence; cases that other doctors have given up hope on.
Unfortunately, we require around £250k in order for us to travel to the US and pay to have surgery that will save her life. And time is not on our side."

7 years agoTragically Florence lost her battle recently. I'm still committed to raising money for her memory. All money raised for Florence will be put towards researching Childhood Cancer (Neuroblastoma) which is a worthy cause in itself! Chelle
