Jorja-Rose Dawson was born on the 02/01/2015, sadly on the 5th of April 2016 when she was just only 15 months old her family were given the devastating news that their little girl had a PNET brain tumour, specifically called pineoblastoma. Jorja has had as much chemotherapy as her little body can take now and the family are waiting for a scan on the 23/01/17 to see how well the tumour has responded to this treatment. Doctors have mentioned surgery to remove any of the remaining tumour and her mum Carla tells me the plan is to watch and wait. It's also 50/50 if the tumour will grow back. The best treatment for brain tumours is radiotherapy but Jorja is far too young at the moment. Her mum has obviously been doing a lot of research into this and has found something called proton beam therapy, however can only be done abroad and as everyone knows is going to be costly. I've followed this family's story for a while now and their strength and determination is admirable. I'd really love to raise some money for this family as both they and Jorja have spent the last 7 months in out and out of hospital. Jorja herself has been amazing throughout no matter poorly the treatment has made her, she still always has a smile on her face. The money could be used towards treatment abroad should they need it, or just going out and doing normal fun family things, something they've missed out on so much. I really want to make this family's life just a little brighter and take some of the burden off whilst they're going through this horrific ordeal.
